Basic Database Question!

Submitted by Forum_Admin on 3 December, 2004 - 10:37.

Dear all

I'm wanting to source a basic fundraising/marketing database which is functional but not too expensive.

I have used Proclaim in the past and Razers Edge (whish is too expensive). Its been a good few years since I had to source a database, and I was wondering whether since I last looked, there any good 'off the shelf' type databases which our IT department could look after in-house (so we don't have to pay ongoing support fees)

Any help would be gratefully received

Many thanks

Claire

RE: Basic Database Question!

Another option that you might like to consider is Abattia's WA-Fundraising.

- Hosted, easy to use fundraising and donor management database that is integrated with a web portal for your donors.

-Offering a low ownership cost (£250 per month) and creating no additional work for your IT support staff,

WA-Fundraising faciltates easy team working across the web and is available for you 24/7/365

-Abattia's customers have already used WA-Fundraising to raise in excess of £50 million in donations, and claim over £2.5 million in Gift Aid.

Just so you have some options.

Kind regards,

RE: Basic Database Question!

Just in case this topic is being raised again...

Alan Owen's email - re JAC solutions - is worth looking at.

Other cheaper systems include KISS contacts and Advantage Fundraiser from Redbourn Business Systems

Re: Basic Database Question!

You could contact Richard Hubbard, whose day job is with International China Concern.

It is my understanding that Richard has developed a basic but functional database for donor management, which he will make available to other charities for a very reasonable cost.

I haven't seen it myself, but Richard offered a session on it at the North East Institute of Fundraising conference in November, and the feedback was very positive.

Contact Richard at richard@intlchinaconcern.org if you want further info.

Cheers

Gerry
