Is anyone aware of scanning services for Gift Aid documents? I would like to see if its possible to tie the scanned images into FE, but not sure if there are services out there doing this?
Any ideas?

It is funny you should ask this.... at Blackbaud we currently offer this service to a number of our clients. We have a team of people working on scanning and indexing and the scanstore solution has an integration with The Raiser's Edge. The Scanstore and Gift Aid management solution can also operate independently of The Raiser's Edge. You can find out more about it here http://www.blackbaud.co.uk/bbuk/scanstore/google/landing_nowp.aspx
You can also contact Blackbaud direct to speak to a scanstore consultant.

Hi, yes, i work for a Company called Saturn Corporation in Crawley West Sussex, we specialise in outsourcing solutions for the charity sector. We will scan your gift Aid declerations and verify them against the donors master record from your database. We can then send you your Images on DVD which would be referenced by account #. If Saturn hold your database we will upload the image to the donors record so you can view the record and image at the click of a mouse.

RE: RE: Gift Aid Scanning
If you do decide to scan in and keep the gift aid declarations on the file server, my company has developed a VBA customization that displays a constituent's images from the constituent record. This is better than simply using the media tab as the process is dynamic. You do not need to add the images individually and since images cannot be imported into the current version of RE this turns out to be a good solution.

I'm with larry on this one - RE uses enough hard drive already without adding extra un-necessary documents. If you really need them scanned then store them as archive files somewhere else!
RE: Gift Aid Scanning
Hi there,
My company (FIL) uses a data capture bureau to scan documents (donor pledge forms) averaging about 6,000 per week.
They can provide the images in a number of different formats ready for you to import into your own systems and applications. We use the images on our own and external web servers. The images are linked to database records for retrieval viewing and printing if reqd.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like more information.

Why do you want to do this? We enter the date of the gift aid declaration in the database and store the paper form chronologically. The only time we would ever need to refer to the original form is if the tax people came for an audit.

Sorry I meant to say RE (Raiser's Edge) not FE (Financial Edge).
