List rental

Submitted by janetheap on 28 October, 2005 - 16:44.

We are looking at hiring lists for our upcoming and first ever direct mail fundraising campaign, and I wonder if anyone has either:

Any recommendations of good brokers/managers?

Any comments on the following brokers I have already had quotes from:
Dataworks Europe
Clear Blue Group?

I hope some one can offer advice.

RE: List rental

Hi Lisa,

Are you looking for company or consumer data? I work for a company called Marketsafe who are one of the top providers in the UK for data on businesses. Our customers range from small one man bands to multi million blue chip companies.

If you'd like to know more about what we do please feel free to send me an e-mail and i would be able to show you a demonstration of how we can help you.

Hopefully we can be of help.

RE: List rental

Hi Lisa,
We work directly or via list-brokers to supply lists to many of the UK's charities involved in direct mail fundraising. Here are some of the charities we've worked with in 2007:

Action Against Hunger, Actionaid, Age Concern , AICR, Alzheimer's UK, Breast Cancer Campaign, British Heart Foundation , British Red Cross, Brooke Animal Hospital , CAFOD, Camphill Village Trust, Cancer Research UK, Children With Leukaemia, Diabetes UK, Dogs Trust, DRWF, Feed My People, Great Ormond Street, Guide Dogs for the Blind, Guidepost Trust, Help the Aged, IFAW, MacMillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie cancer care, MS Society, National Trust Scotland, NSPCC, Oxford International Cancer Centre, PDSA, Plan International, RNIB, RNLI, Royal British Legion, RSPCA, Salvation Army, Sense, Smile Train, St. Dunstan's, The National Trust, The Stroke Association, The Woodland Trust, Unicef, Vitalise, Wood Green Animal Shelter, Woodland Trust, World Cancer Research Fund, World Villages for Children, WWF (UK) Ltd

Most of the lists that we have that work well for charities are mail-order buyers/responders in the 40+ demographic.

I would advise that you test as many lists as possible to ensure that roll-out campaigns are maximised to the best performing lists.

The best performimg lists (from our portfolio) that I would recommend testing are: Nightingales, Sapco, Easylife, Craftmatic. Although we have many more lists that are also working for other charities, these are generally our most responsive for a simple donation request campaign. Other lists work well for raffle-stlye campaigns.

Full details of all our mailing lists are at www.evolutiondm.com (click the list portfolio tab) and obviously you can drop me a line if you want some more detailed information.

Good luck with the campaign(s) and remember to negotiate on the price. Don't be shy, you should get at least 85% net names on lists over 20,000 (from one list) and be able to get at least one selection charge waived with most brokers/managers if not also a discount on the base rental.

RE: List rental

We have been in touch with the REaD group - firstly about data cleaning. However they have a list which will pull out good matches with your database profile and they may be worth contacting (www.readgroup.co.uk)

RE: List rental

this is something that we supply at the data partnership we hold and generate vast lists of people who donate or have expressed an intrest in donating to charities this can even be broken down to the type of charity that the individual is interestyed in giving to.

if this is still of interest to anyone please contact steve.

RE: List rental

Hi

We have used EDM Media recently who offer list rental and swapping with other charities, lifecycle lists etc and have found them to be reasonable.
