Hi
I've been fundraising for over five years, however, I'm new to hospital fundraising - I'm amazed that the NHS doesn't have basic national procedures and guidelines in place regarding fundraising, so my job is to prepare policies and procedures for fundraising across the Trust that I work for. I am a lone fundraiser within the Finance department and would love to bounce ideas off like minded people - Would anyone be willing to share fundraising policies / procedures for their Trust with me so that I have a starting point?

re: Any Hospital Fundraisers out there?
While this doesn't directly answer your question, you might like to know there is a network of hospital fundraisers. It is one of the special interest groups at the Institute of Fundraising:

The Group Chair is Peter Fletcher:
hospitalfundraisers@institute-of-fundraising.org.uk
The group's page on the Institute's website says:
"The Hospital Fundraisers Special Interest Group was established in the year 2000 as it was recognised that fundraising in a hospital or similar environment can be quite different from being a member of a fundraising team in other charities."
The group holds two full-day meetings each year. The next ones are Wednesday 8 March 2006 (Birmingham) and Wednesday 11 October 2006 (London).
Hope that network proves useful for you.
