Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me ? I have started out doing some fundraising for a family member that needs an operation that the NHS have refused to fund.
Obviously I want to do it properly and legally so I really need some help as I have never done anything like this before.
I know I need to open a bank account, where though ?
Do we need a committee ?
What are the legal requirements on fundraising for an individual rather than an organisation ?
Sorry for all the questions but I really dont know where to start.
Any advice at all is much appreciated

RE: Please Help a total novice
Yes there are 5 of us on the committee.
We are raising money for my brother in law for an operation he needs.
He has appeared on breakfast TV this week so the fundraising has now kicked off.
Good luck with yours

To open a bank account you must have at least three people on the committee. I take it you have this. In area are you working?
RE: Please Help a total novice
I opened one with Lloyds TSB, thank you

It would seem that you and me are in the boat. I belive that you will need to open a bank account for what you are doing. most banks will do this for you.
