Charity Golf Day

My regional office are supporting a small local charity for the next two years and my director wants to hold a charity golf day with an aim to raise around £2-5k. We are going to invite a mixture of suppliers and customers and we are going to ask people to pay £250-500 to submit a team of four players.
We will also offer things like sponsorship of holes and a dinner and auction in the evening.
We have a venue in mind, but I am just looking for any advice from anybody with experience of this sort of event as I am not a golfer and this is my first fundraising event too!
