I would really appreciate any feedback (good and bad) relating to a commercial company collecting unwanted items (door to door) and giving a percentage to our charity. In return they want to use or logo - is it worth considering?

RE: Any advice Please?
Maybe a bit of a tangent, but you might want to look into trademarking your logo - apparently it can be quite hard (and expensive) to stop others using non-trademarked logos. There was a piece in Third Sector about trademarks in January 2007 - http://tinyurl.com/ysazjo

Is it worth considering? My advice is not for more than 30 seconds. Your logo is your brand, it's part of how you project yourself to the public. Handing it over to a commercial company who will then take it directly door to door seems high risk to your reputation. Another query I'd have is why they want your logo - to give the impression to people that they were donating to charity by any chance?
Companies and charities can work together - logos on carrier bags etc. but it has to be very tightly controlled and guarded - your offer seems a little on the vague side to me.

I have read stories recently about companies collecting for themselves and very little getting to charity.
Ask yourself if the company can do the collecting anyway and state they will give x% to this charity, without using the logo.
Oh, and if you do go ahead with it, check any contract carefully. Quite a bit of difference between percentage of turnover and percentage of net.
