Hi! I was wondering if anyone in their Major Donor/Corporate capacity has bought the Wealth Monitor from The Mergermarket Group (owned by The Financial times). I went to a presentation/meeting with them recently and obviously (due to data protection) they could not tell me which other charities have bought subsciption to it.
My budget is really small, so I don't think I will be able to afford it, but I just thought I would check to see if anyone has had really high returns from it and would therefore thoroughly recommend it. I guess the risk is whether paying a lot of money for it will pay off when you target high worth individuals who will donate larger amounts than the donors one would normally have access to.
Any hints, or experience from using it would be gratefully received. Also, is any able to tell me how much you paid for it?
Many thanks
Gemma

RE: Wealth Monitor
It may be a great publication - but most information about wealthy people is already in the public domain. Start with the Sunday Times Rich list and spend some time on google (Or everyclick) to get your information
Good luck

RE: Wealth Monitor
Hi gemma
Although i appreciate that there are data protection issues about who else has subscribed, I do think that they should be able to provide you with some basic data regarding their other subscribers, and success rates e.g x no of charities with an annual turnover of £x raised £XXX and so on. It seems that you have very little information to go on, and until they provide this, I would be very scepticle about using this outfit.
Additionally I would ask them to provide several referees, preferably users whom you might contact.Sorry to sound pessimisitic, but beware of several scams to extract money (also involving identity theft) from the voluntary sector, are in circulation at the moment, even though this one might be genuine.
