This is a complicated area of law. It depends on the type of raffle you mean.
If you want to sell tickets within a form of entertainment, only on the day, with the draw taking place during the event, you can more or less do what you want - this would be a Small Society lottery, and outside the scope of the legislation.
If you want to sell tickets more widely, the full weight of the law comes into play.
As I suggested in another thread recently, go to the Institute of Fundraising website and read the Code of Practice on Raffles and Lotteries. If you're still confused, come back to us and someone will help you out.
