Appeal for charity to educate children

Submitted by gordonkingsfordsmith on 28 June, 2007 - 07:40.

I was wondering how I could start the fundraising process for the education of street children, We already run a school where street children are provided with free education and now we are looking at expanding the organization.
Any help will be great.
Thanks.

RE: Appeal for charity to educate children

I'm afraid that sounds like far too broad a question for this forum to answer effectively. This forum works best when the question is quite focused and specific.

You don't for example mention whether you have registered as a charity in the UK, where the funding for your activities has come from to date, who will be doing the fundraising (you, other volunteers, trustees?), and what level of funding you are looking for - tens of thousands of pounds, hundreds of thousands of pounds?

For people new to fundraising I suggest getting hold of one of the many guides to fundraising (see the UK Fundraising bookshop for some of them), or going on one of the Directory of Social Change/Institute of Fundraising's relatively low cost training courses.

The Institute of Fundraising also publish the "Good Fundraising Guide" which is an excellent introduction to fundraising. You can find out how to order it at:

Good luck.
