Hi,I was wondering whether anyone could help,i run a CIC and we have been given funding to cover certain costs including salary, however I am having difficulty in finding anyone that can match fund the salary for a development worker,we have an agreement for 50% of the cost.
I dont have a problem finding project funding, however i need some help in finding salary funders,we have only been going a year and this tends to put people off in my opinion, however we are growing much faster than anticipated.
Any help or comments are more than welcome.

RE: Help with salary funding please?
Hi, Gary
You're quite close to us, so if you want to contact us off-list we could have a chat.
However, the general principle is one we've been over before in this forum - it would seem to revolve around how you ask the question.
There are indeed few funders who will give grants for salaries. Equally, however, most realise that, for services to be delivered, somebody has to be paid.
You may already be doing this when you submit applications, but it seems to me you're not so much looking for a salary as for 20 hours pw of life-enhancing service provision. It's not the tool you want, it's what the tool can do for you.
Hope this helps.
Cheers
Gerry
Where have you tried? Which area of the country are you? What sort of work?
Some funders cover salaries (or parts of salaries) within project costs.
ie Lunch project, covers food, fuel, washing costs, cook's salary, portion of management costs and so on.
Others won't cover such things in project costs, but will cover salaries directly.
Its easier for help to be given if we know what you've tried and where your CIC works.
We run a lifeskills/music/dance programme in Northumberland,we look at alternative ways of promoting transferable skills, confidence building etc.
I have approached Northern Rock Foundation and they funded one position for 3 years however we still need to look at the other development position of which we have an agreement for 50% ,we have spoken to youth music(we haven't been going long enough)trusthouse,Community Foundation,Greggs,Lankelly Chase to name a few.
