Does anyone have any experience of a UK wide charity having more success in Scotland and deciding to allow their Scottish branch to become a separate charity?

Thanks Michael. Good to have someone else's thoughts on this.
RE: STARTING A SCOTTISH BRANCH OF A UK CHARITY
Well, Karen, since you've had no replies, I thought I'd share some thoughts, though not experiences.
The RSPCA do no work in Scotland yet seem to fundraise so well that their Scottish equivalent, the SSPCA have started pointing this out in their fundraising, encouraging people to help 'Scottish Animals'.
A UK charity will still need to register with OSCR if they have more than limited activities in Scotland, and my understanding is that youd get a Scottish charity number anyway - although to be honest, a lot about OSCR just doesn't stick in my head after I read it.
People like to give local in Scotland, and if your charity seems very 'English', then I'd recommend a Scottish angle, but I don't know if a whole separate charity is needed.
As I said, no answers, just some (late night) thoughts.
