I am organizing a quiz night in the new year and I need some fresh ideas of raising money on the evening over and above the quiz and entry ticket price. How would these fit around the quiz and also, what format can the quiz take to fit around dinner? Would I do rounds in between courses? The evening will last 4 hours in total.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

RE: Quiz Night
Now you've got the menu sorted, how about some fundraising games!
Heads & Tails
Kings & Queens
Silent Auction
All of these can take place in between the courses, and I have seen a few events host a race evening, with a few races in between courses. Great fun.

RE: Quiz Night
Absolutely - the International idea is just a concept - you could equally have biology, chemistry, nanomicrospectroscopy as themes for the rounds :-)
I guess my key point is that you should build your event round your interests and your knowledge of your punters. Myriad concepts that look weird on paper work brilliantly in practice, because of the chemistry or the personality of the organiser.
Go for it - and let us know how it goes.

RE: RE: Quiz Night
Thanks Gerry, that really is a great idea. It is going to be aimed at high net worth indiv. donating to education in London.
I had thought it might be a bit of a shambles trying to fit in quiz rounds inbetween courses, but didn't want one to detract from the other. I suspect it would be better to go for the dinner with a quiz if i have in mind who i am aiming this at. I also need to somehow theme the evening around science which is perhaps where i could adapt your international idea?
Thanks again.
[quote]THis is another question where we could really do with more information!
In essence, if you're organising it and you know your market, you need to go with your own instincts. Fitting a quiz around a meal, with rounds between courses, sounds interesting, but with the potential to be a bit of a dog's dinner (if you'll pardon the expression!)
Is it a quiz night during which they're getting food, or a dinner at which there'll be a quiz?
An International "Banquet", with courses from different parts of the world, but with quiz questions related to the country and its culture before each course, could be really interesting.
Dammit - I should have copyrighted that before posting!!!
