The Big Give, Alec Reed's website that aims to match major donors to relevant charity projects, has appointed 22 individuals from the private, public and charity sectors to its 'Board of Philanthropists' to help develop the site and service. Specifically they will help to encourage other major donors to use the website and provide expert feedback on the
it.

The Big Give encourages high net-worth philanthropists to identify suitable projects, and gives charities the chance to attract funding of up to £10 million. Donors looking to give £100,000 or more can search quickly and discreetly for charitable projects in their field of interest, filtering their
search options by donation amount, geographical location, cause and type of beneficiary.

Launched to charities in October 2007, the website has not surprisingly attracted considerable interest from charities who are using it to advertise over £1 billion worth of projects.
