Hello
I'm fairly new to trust fundraising and have come across something quite odd. The charity I work for received a grant of just over £2k from an organisation in either 2002 or 2003 towards a minibus. This money has yet to be spent (due to the fundraiser leaving and not being replaced for years). I approached the organisation to request that the money be spent on something other than the minibus.
The response I received back stated that they had no record of ever having given us the money!
I'm at a loose end. We have no paper copies of this donation - poor I know - only a Trustee remembering that it was from this particular organisation. What can I do? Can we re-allocate the money to a different project without permission from the organisation?
