International development charity VSO is holding an information evening for people from fundraising, communications or advocacy backgrounds who are interested in volunteering their skills overseas.
At the office of UBS on Monday 18th August from 6.30 - 8.30pm you can find out how your skills can be used to work with some of the poorest communities in the world. Speakers at the event will include VSO returned volunteers:
· Steve Jackson, a fundraiser who worked with KOTO, a restaurant in Vietnam providing hospitality training to street children.
· Julia Lalla-Maharajh, an advocacy adviser who volunteered with an education project in Cambodia
· Ella Marie Moffat, a returned volunteer who helped raise funds for a rural development NGO in India
· Emma Hayward, who developed funding for a Teacher Training and Resource Centre in Rwanda.
There will also be the opportunity to talk informally with VSO staff and returned volunteers and hear more about the kinds of volunteering opportunities available.
The event is free but places are limited. Call 020 8780 7500 to book a place. This event is kindly supported by UBS.
