Facebook groups and events just got more important

According to Nick O'Neill's "allfacebook - the unofficial facebook blog", Facebook has now given Google access to index the content in its users' groups and events sections, or at least those that users have set as 'public'.

Charities that are already using these elements of Facebook to promote their work and activities might therefore see an improvement to their rankings in searches on Google, or at least find greater traffic coming to their Facebook pages.

Conversely, charities that do not use Facebook to promote themselves or their events might be at a comparative disadvantage.
