EUCLID announces the next series of Culture Euro seminars across the UK, helping you access some of the millions of euros available from the European Union for cultural projects.
‘Excellent and extremely informative. A most valuable and useful seminar’ Delegate from spring / summer series
The EU’s Culture programme (2007-2013) has a budget of €400 million to encourage mobility and celebrate Europe’s cultural diversity. These seminars will give you the tools to make a successful bid for European funding.
Statistics from the EC indicate that, in 2008/09, UK applications to the Culture programme had a 65-75% success rate - one of the highest success rates to any funding programme in the UK or Europe.
Since 2007, over 100 UK organisations have received EU funding, including Brouhaha International, Henry Moore Institute, Arts Action York, the Place, the Beat Initiative, Site Gallery, Circus Arts Forum, Border Crossings, Comma Press, English Heritage and Birmingham Conservatoire.
What will the seminar cover?
• Background to the EU – brief history, its legal remit re culture, how it works regarding policy and funding decisions, current challenges, and issues for the arts and cultural sector
• Detailed information on the EU trans-national funding programmes, including the Culture programme, and programmes for media, education, training and young people, as well as the citizens, environment, and research & development programmes
• Detailed information on the EU Structural Funds, including Interreg IV, and possible new opportunities for rural areas due to changes in Common Agricultural Policy budgets.
• Practical guidance on applying to the EU trans-national programmes, and finding partners
The seminars will also provide brief info on some non-EU opportunities, including European trusts and foundations, as well as other bursaries, grants and awards.
