Women are transforming the face of philanthropy. Strengthened by increased economic powers and changing socio-cultural roles, women have become major philanthropists and are leading some of the most influential and successful foundations and non-profit organisations across the globe.

Despite women’s significant contribution to and central role within philanthropy, our understanding of female philanthropy continues to be limited. To address this issue and to encourage wider debate, the Centre for Charitable Giving and Philanthropy (CGAP) at Cass Business School is hosting a discussion on Female Futures of Philanthropy. The event will examine how the role of women as donors and leaders in philanthropy is developing and will discuss the challenges and opportunities ahead.

Speakers from academia and practice will include:
- Hilary Pearson, President of Philanthropic Foundations Canada (PFC),
- Vivienne Hayes, Chief Executive of the Women’s Resource Centre (WRC),
- Cathy Pharoah, Co-Director of the Centre for Charitable Giving and Philanthropy
- Diana Leat, Visiting Professor at the Centre for Charity Effectiveness at Cass Business School and at the Centre for Philanthropy and Non-profit Studies at Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane Australia
