Dealing wth Difficult Volunteers looks at the problems that arise with managing and co ordinating volunteers and is suitable for anyone who is responsible for carrying out supervision or management roles with volunteers. 

The course is suitable for all levels of experience and will be tailored to suit the needs of participants.

By the end of the course you will:

  • Have a clear understanding of what constitutes difficult volunteer behaviour and why taking action is important
  • Be able to understand when certain things become a problem by exploring how behaviour can differ in varying situations.
  • Be equipped with the skills to confidently tackle difficult behaviour and apply a problem solving approach  to dealing with issues that may arise.
  • Know the correct procedures to follow when dismissing volunteers and be confident in discussing these issues with the vulunteer in question

We will also look at specific problems you have dealt with or are dealing with in your organisation and look at the different ways you could tackle the issues back in the work place.

Caroline Shead, Harrogate Volunteer Centre Manager, will deliver this course. Caroline is a qualified trainer and has extensive experience of recruiting and managing volunteers within the voluntary sector.
