iHobo – Depaul Trust's iPhone app

Howard Lake | 29 June 2010 | News

De Paul's iHobo app

iHobo is “the world’s first live action charity iPhone app”, according to DePaul Trust.

Like a Tamagotchi, iHobo lives on your phone for three days and you have to ‘look after him’. “Ignore him and his life spirals out of control”.

At the end of what Depaul hope will be an illuminating three days, you are encouraged to donate to the charity – either £1, £3 or £10.

Depaul say that this is the first iPhone app to use real-life footage of a fictional homeless person rather than CGI, and one of the first to use Apple’s ‘push alert’ technology.

You can download the free app from iTunes.
