Outdoor retailer Mountain Warehouse is offering a prize of £5,000 to charity for the individual who wins their Outdoor Challenge this year.

To enter the competition individuals have to be taking part in an outdoor challenge during 2013. This could be a sponsored walk, run, cycle, expedition or similar endeavour.

They are invited to share their story, which will be displayed on the Mountain Warehouse website, and the public will then vote for the winner.

Mark Neale, founder of Mountain Warehouse, said: “We are inundated with sponsorship requests and stories about people attempting these fantastic expeditions and challenges to raise money for charity. We wanted the opportunity to share their stories, get the public involved and give something back to these very worthwhile causes.”

As well as offering a £5,000 prize to one charity, Mountain Warehouse is giving all entrants 20% off their next purchase at Mountain Warehouse, to help them prepare for their challenge.

The company has also teamed up with online fundraising platform JustGiving to promote the Charity Challenge to their network of individual fundraisers.
