The THINK Foundation has made its first grant, choosing to support the Resource Alliance.

The Foundation has been set up by THINK Consulting Solutions to “give something back to the sector and improve fundraising skills around the world”.

This first grant will support a Regional Programme Officer in South Asia. It will fund the salary costs for two years and one-off costs for office equipment.

“The voluntary sector in South Asia has grown tremendously in the last decade,” said Tony Elischer , Managing Director of THINK. “But a large number of NGOs trying to mobilise resources locally are facing a great lack of trained fundraisers. This lack of skills and professionalism weakens the credibility of the sector.

“We want to help The Resource Alliance seize the great opportunity in South Asia for resource mobilisation, which is strengthened by strong traditions of philanthropy, a growing middle class and more awareness of corporate responsibility.”
