easyfundraising.org.uk passes £2 million in donations mark

Fundraising website easyfundraising.org.uk raised over £300,000 for good causes in the run up to Christmas 2010, bringing its total to £2.2 million since it launched in 2007.
Between October and December 2010, a total of £302,144 was generated by easyfundraising’s members as they shopped online with nearly 2000 retail partners.
Shoppers login to easyfundraising, and then simply select a good cause to support before buying with retailers such as M&S, Argos, Vodafone, Comet, Play.com, GAME, Debenhams and House of Fraser. When they make a purchase, the retailer passes a donation to the shopper’s chosen cause, which is either a percentage of the total spend or a flat, one-off donation.
Managing Director Gary Thompson said: “We’re thrilled to have passed the £2 million donation mark. The easyfundraising supporters are using our service more than ever… We’re hoping to raise well in excess of £1m in 2011”.
Any not-for-profit organisation can register for free with easyfundraising, including charities, schools and pre-schools, youth groups, animal welfare, sports teams, individual fundraisers and religious groups.
