Jewson offers £100,000 for community building projects

Howard Lake | 3 March 2015 | News

Builders’ merchants Jewson is offering £100,000 to help fund community projects in its Building Better Communities campaign. The winning entries will receive a combination of donated products from Jewson plus cash.
Regional winners will receive support of £1,000 and £5,000, and the overall winner will receive £50,000 in prizes.
Applications and nominations should be in no more than 300 words. Jewson is looking for projects which have a sustainable impact, use sustainable products, and reach a large number of people (but without giving undue bias towards urban areas).
Projects could be a new roof for a village hall, a sensory garden for local school children or the renovation of a long-forgotten community building.
Once the nominations period has closed, a shortlist will be announced. This will then be put to a public vote.
The closing date for entries to Jewson’s Building Better Communities is 12 April 2015.
