How charities used #GBBO to engage with supporters

While a good proportion of the nation was getting ready this evening to watch the return of The Great British Bake Off, Laura Croudace was watching how charities were making the most of the popularity of the programme’s hashtag #GBBO.
With over 177,000 uses of the hashtag so far, it was clear that the first episode in series six was going to be a popular programme and one that was attracting a lot of attention and discussion online. Given the power of charity bake sales, it’s not surprising that plenty of charities were joining in the discussion to get their baking-related events promoted.
