New guidance for fundraising events offering flights

Melanie May | 11 January 2016 | News

The Civil Aviation Authority has issued new guidance for charities and fundraisers who wish to offer flights or flight-inclusive trips as part of their events or fundraising activities.
The document is available online and explains how to ensure a flight-inclusive trip is ATOL-compliant, examples of when an ATOL would be required, and the information that must be provided in any related advertising or promotion, and to participants.
It also covers when to provide an ATOL certificate, and who to, what funds are ATOL protected, what happens in the event of an ATOL holder failure, and also explains why ATOL regulations must be complied with.
