Third nfptweetup held in London

Submitted by howardlake on 1 June, 2009 - 10:30.

The third nfptweetup, or meeting of charity/voluntary sector staff, agencies and others interested in how Twitter can be used by charities, took place on Wednesday last week.

I was unable to make it, but still managed to take part in the early stages using Twitter (of course) and by viewing a live broadcast of the event.

The event got underway with an introduction from Rachel Beer of Beautiful World, who displayed a collaborative slideshow from participants and other contributors:

Damien has shared a video recording of part of the event in which Andy Williamson describes Twitter as a 'digital mayfly', a means of finding out what is going on right now:

Noonan Media have published four snippets of their live video coverage of the event:

You can follow the online updates and discussion before, during and after the event at

The event was also broadcast live on Christian Aid radio.

Adam Waller, also of Beautiful World, has shared photos of the event on Flickr:

The third NFPTweetup was a great evening and cheers to all the lovely people who joined us at the venue, online or on Christain Aid radio.

Top tips and thoughts from the Tweetup will be posted online pretty soon. In the meantime, you can become a fan of NFPTweetup on Facebook:
