The new GuideStar Israel online database (www.guidestar.org.il) has just been launched. Approximately 29,000 Israeli non-profit organizations are currently included. GuideStar Israel is a joint project of the Ministry of Justice, Yad Hanadiv (the Rothschild Foundation) and JDC Israel, and is operated by NPTech – Technologies for Nonprofit Organizations Ltd.
I have had problems searching for information in English, but it is early days yet.

GuideStar Israel say that this is the first time that financial and operational information on Israeli non-profit organisations has been made available to the public online.
The site is published in Hebrew, Arabic and English, and lists each nonprofit organisation registered with the National Registrar of Non-profit Organizations in Israel.
It also provides an Internet presence to all non-profit organisations in Israel, since it includes the country’s smallest NPOs that have not created online presences before. According to Dr. Nissan Limor, chairman of NPTech, about 40 percent of the 30,000 registered nonprofits in Israel do not have websites.
Justice Minister Yaakov Neeman, who announced the site's launch, said: “This Web site will allow donors to see where their money is going, give those who want to volunteer the opportunity and will provide the public with important information.”
Justice Ministry Director General Dr. Guy Rotkoff added: “Any charity that is not registered on this website does not officially exist.”
