10 intriguing session titles at the 2013 National Convention

For once I've managed to plan my National Convention schedule in advance. As always though, while I look forward to many sessions, I realise that there are many that look very good but which I will miss out on.

This year's Convention consists of 120 sessions divided into eight thematic tracks, and flagged as to whether they are aimed at beginners, experienced or senior fundraisers:

  • community, events and volunteers
  • corporate fundraising
  • digital fundraising
  • individual giving
  • major donors
  • personal effectiveness
  • the bigger picture
  • trusts and statutory

Here are 10 sessions whose titles alone intrigue me:

  • Making fundraising macho

  • Men and moustaches - what is driving the success of Movember and does it signal the end of the marathon?

  • How to get more meetings with millionaires?

  • The Big Gay 10k: fundraising with a twist

  • Put away the defibrillator! Easy ways to breathe new life into your major giving programme

  • Gravitas for fundraisers

  • Simple tricks for writing great copy your agency won't tell you

  • You might not like this: entrepreneurs challenge the charity sector to make more money

  • Trust me, I'm a fundraiser

  • Herding cats and leading from behind - how to get our fundraising board to do what you want.

You can explore all the sessions available from 1-3 July at National Convention in a PDF or in Issuu magazine format.
