I was at a conference recently where a consultant (who shall remain nameless!) asserted that there was loads of money being raised through the current rash of Charity Adverts on TV, but that it was all being creamed off by the Big Guys because only they could afford the ads.
When I asked her (that narrows the field by 50%) she admitted that this was only an inference, and that she had not seen any returns on DRTV campaigns.
Neither have I!
Does anybody know of any reports on recent campaigns, or is there any brave person here present who will share their own experiences of this relatively new fundraising technique?
Cheers
Gerry

I think I knew most of that, though. Are there any recent figures on return on investment? I don't come across too many charities who would have upwards of £50k to invest in their fundraising, and my Mystery Consultant's inference that the medium is only for the big guys would appear to be justified.

Re:DRTV
I wrote an article a while back showing how even small and medium sized charities could effectively use DRTV to recruit new donors.
It can be downloaded for free from http://www.tobinaldrich.com/page1.php
