Hi
I am working for the international secretariat of a network of organisations around the world.
Has anyone got any tips on how to get funds for international projects? Most foundations I look at state that they only fund work in their own country or otherwise they do fund international work, but only if carried out by a UK charity. We can possibly submit a proposal through our UK branch for these foundations but this puts extra pressure on them.
Are there any foundations who fund international work for organisations based outside their own country?
Thanks
Sophie

International Fundraising
Actually, Chapel & York have resources on lots of international funders - I did some research for their (now out of date) book on funding sources on the web, and I have on my bookshelf their Directory of Asia Pacific Grantmakers. They also have an affiliate 501(c)(3) through which they can channel US donations, though, if you have a US branch, they would probably be able to do it.

International Grants
Hi
I am looking to fundraise from US Trusts & Foundations a number of which will fund internationally. A good resource is Chapel & York Directory of American Grant Makers. You do need to have an501(c) (3) account in America so that donnors can get their tax back, as I work for a university we already have that in place. For further information I would look at Chapel & York's web site.
You don't say in your post what type of projects you are looking to fund, would this be core/revenue or capital projects?
