Help Needed

in

Hello, I was wondering if anyone could help me wit a few questions I have.I am currently in the process of starting a charity for organisations in Africa which I have been involved in.

I hope to send volunteers over to assist with the projects in Africa and have the volunteers raise money before departure in England. I don't want to be like most volunteer charities where they charge for the privilage to go over.

My idea raise funds is to have the volunteers (on average 6 all year round)is to house and feed them with our charity for a month before departure to he project and carry out street collections say for about three days week. Also we are looking to get a charity shop and put on three charity nights in a month and also provide challenges for the volunteers to raise sponsorship from their family and friends.

I am new to fundraising and only put a few small events on. Do you think that is a good way to raise funds? and how much do you think can be raised by the volunteers street collecting? I am thinking that the overheads might be too much and the housing and feeding of the volunteers and paying for their flights might be too much to handle and then only a small amount will get to the projects. But I want to give the opportunity for everyone in this country to volunteer and be given the chance to help in africa. But ultimatley they are of little use unless funding comes with them aswell.

Regards,

Nathan
