CTT offers Flickr for Good to UK charities

Charity Technology Exchange is partnering with not-for-profit technology capacity building organisation TechSoup to launch a UK version of the Flickr for Good service. This will enable UK charities to use the photo sharing community site Flickr at no charge.

The Flickr for Good site features nonprofit organisations and causes within Flickr that are sharing their experiences and stories through digital images and encouraging others to take action.

Eligible UK charities can now apply for premium "pro" accounts for individuals. Pro accounts allow Flickr members unlimited photo uploads.

The UK now joins the US, Canada, Australia, and Hong Kong in enjoying this programme.

Flickr attracts 42 million visitors each month from around the world, and more than 2 billion photos are stored on the site.

Selected UK organisations can receive up to five one-year pro membership accounts from Flickr to use however they want. This could be for sharing experiences, updating members with news of their efforts, gathering community support, or any way that can benefit the organisation.

To celebrate the launch of the Flickr donation programme in the UK, CTX and Flickr are offering the first 20 qualifying organisations that place an order for either a two or five PRO licence package one free place on a Flickr "Masterclass" to be held on the 20 June 2008 in London.
