The Institute of Fundraising Technology Group is holding an evening event next month looking at data insecurity in relation to donors.
“Data Insecurity – How safe is your donor data?” will feature two speakers – Sue McCabe, independent consultant, who will discuss PCI Compliance; and Lesley Tadgell-Foster, who will provide an update on the most critical data protection issues for charities.

The event will cover issues such as knowing what you are legally allowed to store on your database, what to ask for opt-ins and opt-outs for your mailings and communications, and PCI compliance in terms of accepting credit card donations.
The event takes place from 17.30 on 8 October 2008 at Cancer Research UK, Room 37a, 44 Lincolns Inn Fields, London WC2A 3PX.
The fee is £9 for members of the Institute of Fundraising and £12 for non-member individuals.
