Local schools, village halls, churches, arts centres and other local voluntary organisations that could make good use of a piano are invited to apply for a free new Yamaha Clavinova digital Piano.

Jamie CallumYamaha and Classic FM will be donating at least 25 brand new instruments to selected causes throughout December in time for Christmas. Yamaha is celebrating the 25th anniversary of this popular digital piano.

The awards are open to a wide range of local organisations including nursing homes, children's nurseries, hospices, and music societies.

The scheme is backed by singer Jamie Cullum and musician Jools Holland.

Applications from qualifying groups are being invited through Jamie Crick's Lunchtime Requests programme on ClassicFM and through a nationwide PR campaign.

Yamaha's Robert Webster said: "We wanted to create a high impact and valuable programme to celebrate the 25th anniversary of our Clavinova digital piano and what better way than to capture the spirit of Christmas and the festive season to donate 25 of these great instruments to needy causes."

You can apply online where you need to explain in 255 words or fewer why your community deserves a Clavinova.
