The Mr Men and Little Miss characters created by Roger Hargreaves will form the theme of the 2009 Comic Relief fundraising event, Red Nose Day.
Some of the cartoon characters, licensed to Comic Relief by Chorion, are already featured on the charity's website, and also appear on the Early Years Kits fundraising packs that will be distributed to nursery groups across the UK from January.
Comic Relief will also benefit from a new Mr Funny story written and illustrated by Adam Hargreaves. Due for publication on 2 February 2009, £2 from the sale of each copy of 'Mr Funny's Red Nose Day' will be donated to the charity.
Red Nose Day 2009 takes place on Friday 13 March.
