The next event from the Institute of Fundraising's Insight special interest group is entitled "Death and data: legacy fundraising and the recession". It will take place on 31 March from 5.30 - 6.30pm at Cancer Research UK's offices in London.

Claire Routley (Legacy and In Memoriam Marketing Manager at Help the Aged) and Nigel Magson (Chairman, Insight SIG and Tangible Data) will discuss how data can inform and be used to benefit and develop a successful legacy fundraising programme.
They will present an updated version of their session at the 2008 Institute of Fundraising National Convention. They will cover how can you understand which of your current supporters will become a future legator, how you can focus current scarce resources to best effect, and what legacy lifestages are and how they can help.
The event will include a session for discussion and on how data techniques can support legacy fundraising.
The event costs £10 for members of the Institute of Fundraising, £15 for non-members, and £20 for commercial suppliers.

Legacy Fundraising and the Recession
The Institute of Fundraising also held a one-day conference on Legacy Fundraising in December.
It's possible to listen to a free podcast which includes interviews with the day's speakers on the Institute site and on iTunes.

Attendees at the above event and all other legacy fundraisers should find it interesting.
