The Guardian newspaper is inviting applications from charities working with teenagers and young adults at risk to benefit from The Guardian and Observer Christmas 2010 charity appeal. In fact, it is looking for 10 organisations to benefit.
To be considered, a project must have been operating for at least six months and must work with those aged 13 to 24.
The appeal is run in association with charity analysts New Philanthropy Capital.
Applications must be received by 8 October 2010.

10 winners out of 337 applicants
In January 2001, New Philanthropy Capital reported in its email newsletter that "337 charities applied, 21 were shortlisted, and ten were finally chosen to receive the proceeds". I think those are quite reasonable odds, given the income.
