Mobile specialist Wapple has again built Comic Relief’s mobile site for Red Nose Day 2011 using its Canvas platform, and is helping with the event’s mobile strategy. Users accessing www.rednoseday.com from a mobile device are automatically redirected to the mobile site where content and functions are automatically optimised for the device they are using, whether they have Android, iPhone, Windows or any other mobile device including handheld games devices or older generation feature phones.
Mobile visitors can find the latest information from Red Nose Day including news and TV listings, and they can donate direct from their mobile using PayPal, and show support for Red Nose Day by downloading wallpapers to customise their phones. They can also find fundraising ideas, sign up for email communications, and search for and find fundraisers whom they can then sponsor direct from their mobile. as well as a sponsor search feature that enables supporters to instantly find fundraisers and sponsor them from their mobile.
Wapple built and implanted Red Nose Day 2009’s mobile site. “We have great confidence that the new features of the mobile site will help to increase involvement and donations to this very important charity event,” said Anne Thomas, COO at Wapple. “The Red Nose Day site is a true demonstration of why it is important to design usable experiences on mobile and increase consumer confidence in a brand.”
