U2 contribute "Walk On" to Songs for Japan relief album

Rock group U2 is contributing one of its tracks to 'Songs for Japan', a charity album created to benefit those affected by the earthquake and tsunami which struck Japan on 11 March.

U2 have contributed "Walk On" to Songs for Japan and like all the other artists, labels and publishers involved with the project, the band have agreed to waive all royalties from sales of the album to ensure that the Japanese Red Cross receives as much support as possible from this global initiative.

The album features 38 contemporary and classic tracks including an exclusive remix of Lady Gaga's "Born This Way," original versions of Katy Perry's "Firework," Bruno Mars' "Talking to the Moon," and Adele's "Make You Feel My Love".

Songs for Japan is available to download from iTunes now for £7.99; £6.19 from each sale of the album will be donated to the Japanese Red Cross.
