Capacity building grants available to Dorset charities

Charities and community groups in Dorset have less than two weeks to apply for funding of up to £7,500 from Dorset County Communities Fund. The fund has been set by Dorset County Council to build the capacity of the voluntary and community sector to deliver stronger services and support for local communities.

It is managed and administered by Dorset Community Foundation. It is designed to support new projects that have a distinct start and finish date, a budget for the work, plus details of the specific outcomes and outputs. Groups based in Bournemouth and Poole can only apply provided that project beneficiaries are in shire Dorset.

The first round of grant applications will close on 6 January 2012, with the first grant awards being given out in mid-February.
