Nominations open for $1.5m 2013 Hilton Humanitarian Prize

Nominations from charities around the world are now open for the 2013 Hilton Humanitarian Prize. Presented by the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, this is the world's largest humanitarian award.

It is presented annually to an organisation anywhere in the world that is "doing extraordinary work to alleviate human suffering".

The 2013 Prize nomination period runs from 1 March until 30 March 2012.
