Online campaigning and fundraising specialists Engaging Networks have announced a new peer-to-peer fundraising service that charities can embed on their own websites. In this way, supporters can stay on the charity's website and not be taken away to third party sites.
The widget-based technology enables individuals to create fundraising campaigns for their sponsored run or other event, and then share it via social network sites, blogs and other websites.
Graham Covington, Managing Director of Engaging Networks, explained: "Our new software dramatically improves the donor journey for the friends and family of the peer-to-peer fundraisers. We are delivering the potential for greater campaign reach and growth."
The service will be launched on 6 July at wallacespace, London. The event will feature a presentation by Paull Young, the Digital Director of charity: water, which raised 75% of its 2011 income online. The charity uses peer-to-peer fundraising, with its most successful campaign encouraging supporters to give up their birthday to raise money for the nonprofit.
There is no charge to attend the event but registration is required.
