The Meningitis Trust has created a Flowers of Thanks virtual garden, an online fundraising tool that families and friends can use to keep alive memories of loved ones.
The site was designed and built by The Good Agency. Open to all members of the public, the site lets people plant and dedicate a flower to a loved one.
Visitors can see flowers that have already been planted and read their dedications. By donating £10 or more they can plant their own flower and raise money to help the charity continue to support people affected by meningitis, campaign on their behalf and run awareness programmes that save lives.
The site has also been designed to increase the public’s awareness of the charity and disease. Supporters can share stories and information to social networks.
Charlotte Beckett, Head of Digital at The Good Agency said: “We wanted to created something inclusive, lasting and inherently shareable, as well of course a site that worked hard to raise funds. Taking the idea of a picturesque garden into the virtual world addresses those needs in a really creative way that allows people to plant a permanent dedication and tell and share their stories”.
