David Lloyd Leisure chooses Together for Short Lives as charity of the year

David Lloyd Leisure has chosen Together for Short Lives, the charity for UK children's hospices, as its charity of the year.

The announcement was made with help from Olympic and Paralympic medallists Zac Purchase MBE, Steve Backley OBE and Sophie Christiansen OBE  on the final day of Children's Hospice Week (26 April - 3 May). DL Kids teams, who run the club activity programmes for children, also joined in the fun by hosting their own superhero parties. Superhero Friday is a day of hero-inspired fundraising in aid of children's hospices.

The charity was chosen from a range of nominations by staff and club members.

David Lloyd Leisure clubs across the UK will raise money for their local children's hospice.
