Published on 4 February 2012, by howardlake
The latest edition of the Directory of Social Change's two-part Guide to the Major Trusts is due for publication on 26 March.
The Guide to the Major Trusts 2012/13 Volume 1 (13th edition), by Tom Traynor, Jude Doherty and Lucy Lernelius-Tonks, focuses on the 400 largest trusts in the UK. Each gives over £300,000 a year, and together they make around £2.53 billion in grants.
The Guide to the Major Trusts 2012-2013: Pt. 2 (10th edition) by Denise Lillya, Catriona Chronnell and Sarah Johnston covers a further 1,100 mainly smaller trusts, which between them give around £212 million each year.
The content of both parts is compiled both through contact with the trusts and through independent research, according to the DSC.
Both books can be pre-ordered from Amazon.co.uk or from DSC, which is currently offering a deal of £125 when both parts are purchased together. They cost £75 each when purchased separately.
Entries open for DoGooder Nonprofit Video Awards

The best charity videos from around the world can win a cash prize and receive promotional coverage on YouTube. Entries are now open to the 6th Annual DoGooder Nonprofit Video Awards.
The awards, presented by See3 Communications and YouTube, are designed to recognise "the creative and effective use of video to promote the work of the nonprofit sector in catalysing social good".
Jean Case, CEO of the Case Foundation, one of the sponsors, said: "Through the DoGooder Nonprofit Video awards, we have seen firsthand how compelling images and dynamic stories amplified by the social web can inspire and activate the masses."
Holly Ross of NTEN added: "As nonprofits, we want to do more than simply tell people what we do, we want to show the impact it makes on our communities. Nothing lets us do that like video."

Technology provider Cisco will provide $14,000 in cash prizes and up to $6,000 in products to be divided amongst the winning organisations. The four contest winners will be featured on the YouTube homepage and receive free registrations to the Nonprofit Technology Network's (NTEN) signature event, the Nonprofit Technology Conference.
