Cats Protection reaches finals of IDM awards

Cats Protection is the only charity to have been short-listed for the final round of judging in the 2003 IDM Business Performance Awards.

The charity says that its direct marketing strategy, developed with TDA, is making a "significant impact on business performance." The programme has focused on generating regular giving rather than one-off donations.

BHF and Tetley recognise volunteers with award

Tetley tea and the British Heart Foundation (BHF) have presented awards to exceptional BHF Shop volunteers who have gone the extra mile for the heart charity.

The national search to find 'Tetley Champions' was also intended to highlight the work of BHF Shop volunteers and encourage more people to volunteer in their local BHF store.

The Lloyds TSB Foundation for England and Wales has published its findings on what results its funding has achieved in the field of mental health.

The research looked at how much impact core funding had compared to project funding, the relative impact of smaller as opposed to larger grants, and the extent to which recipients undertake self-evaluation.

Gift Aid Consortium boosts Gift Aid conversion

The 2002/03 multi-charity Gift Aid Consortium campaign has reported a 17% increase in response compared to the 2001/02 campaign.

The Consortium involves some of the UK's leading charities pooling their data and sharing costs to contact their mutual supporters to make a single Gift Aid request that covers all of the charities they support who have contacted them.

Blackbaud seeks nominations for 2003 TechnOvation award

Blackbaud, the technology provider to non-profits and educational institutions, is seeking nominations for its annual TechnOvation Award.

The 2003 grand-prize winner of this international award, which recognizes organisations that use Blackbaud software in an outstanding or innovative way, will receive a $5,000 donation.

CAF launches Charities' Online Accounts Awards

Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) has changed the emphasis of its annual accounts awards to focus on online publishing and distribution. The revamped awards still offer a £2,000 prize.
