Demelza, the hospice charity for children, has launched an advertising campaign in London's Evening Standard to seek business support for its capital campaign. with the title "Can we come and tell you about Demelza?" The ad consists primarily of a speech bubble containing that request from Ted Gladdish, the charity's Chief Executive.

Covering fundraising, sponsorship and gifts in kind, the book provides advice on how to seek help from others, including clarifying audience, what is being asked for, what information to include and what tone to strike.

Compton International, the British firm of fundraising consultants, has published "Capital Fundraising in the UK - the Compton Way".
The guide has been written by Andrew Day and Paul Molloy for trustees and board members of Britain's charities, fundraisers employed by these organisations, and indeed other fundraising consultants involved in capital fundraising in the UK.

CCR Data are hosting a one day training session in November in London day which will cover many aspects of the day to day practical challenges of fundraising. Topics to be covered include mailing, Data Protection, major donor fundraising, campaign response management, capital campaigns and data profiling and enhancement.

The Royal Horticultural Society's (RHS) Garden at Wisley in Surrey has recorded on glass panels the names of 1,700 individual donors who have donated over £200 to the RHS Bicentenary Appeal.
The appeal was launched to fund the RHS Bicentenary Glasshouse, over twice the size of the existing glasshouses.

The Children's Centre Project (CCP) has begun a capital appeal, working with Cascaid, for a new building to bring together children's charities.
Children's charities which have an interest in partnership working and sharing ideas will have share a central London office if a capital appeal by the Children's Centre Project is successful.
