Spinal Injury Associations wins pro bono public affairs support

The Spinal Injury Association (SIA) has successfully won pro bono political support from the Whitehouse Consultancy for 2006. The SIA was chosen by the public affairs agency to benefit from a year's representation on the basis of a strong and focussed application.

The Hollis Awards recognise excellence and effectiveness in sponsorship and nominations for the 2006 awards are now open.


The winners are selected based on the effectiveness of the sponsorship campaign in terms of the targets established at the planning stage.

ChildLine has been selected as the beneficiary charity of Blue Peter's Treasure Trail appeal.

This year's Treasure Trail appeal on children's TV show 'Blue Peter' will encourage viewers to collect and donate old or foreign coins and unwanted mobile phones.

EDF Energy to ask customers to donate Nectar points to Mencap

A new fundraising programme, which is set to benefit EDF Energy's charity partner Mencap, was launched last week (3 October).

During the next three months EDF Energy will be contacting their customers who have not yet registered to collect Nectar points, urging them to donate these unclaimed points to the UK's leading disability charity.

Online bookings for Airport Parking and Hotels to benefit NSPCC

During October 2005, for every airport, car park and hotel booking made online at www.aph.com/NSPCC or via a dedicated telephone number: 0870 733 2147, APH will make a donation to the NSPCC. Additionally, APH employees will be supporting FULL STOP week through various sponsored events.

Satellite tracking improves effectiveness of donated clothes collection

Help the Aged has equipped 160 of its collection vehicles with a new in-cab wireless data and satellite tracking system from Masternaut, which is helping boost efficiency and productivity in the charity's plastic bag donated item scheme.

The Institute of Fundraising is hosting a Major Donor Fundraising conference on Thursday 17 November at The Royal Over-Seas League, London.

The conference is intended to address all aspects of the corporate fundraising process, including initial prospect research, making 'the ask' and retaining donors through to a successful donor care and development system.

Lloyds TSB collects foreign and old coins for Marie Curie Cancer Care

Lloyds TSB will be placing coin collection boxes for Marie Curie Cancer Care in its branches from 19 September this year. The bank will convert all foreign and old coins donated into pounds and pass on the money raised to the cancer charity.

Barnardo's and fish4jobs offer PR 'dreamjobs' competition

Children's charity Barnardo's and online recruitment site fish4jobs have launched the 'dreamjobs' competition, offering PR professional the chance to win a day's work at some major organisations. One prize is a day's working with the Barnardo's PR team, promoting the charity's Toy and Christmas Appeal.
